Forgetting How Old You Are–Perspective

A friend (I won’t tell them it was you, Don) told me about how he went nearly a year thinking he was 67-years old. He had jumped the gun though because he was only 66! At the end of the year, he said something to his son about being 67 and his sibling exclaimed, “Dad, you’re not 67! You’re 66.”

So my friend got to be 67 for two years.

In that case I don’t know if I would rejoice about being a year younger than I thought I was or if I would have griped about suffering the pain of thinking I was a year older than I really was. It’s a matter of perspective, I guess. Continue reading
